European Venture Capital Landscape – June 2026

With 420 investments and $7.5 billion raised across Europe, June saw a 18% increase in volume and 43% rise in deal count month over month. The largest round of the month was a $1.4 billion Series C by the Metzingen-based company Neura a company which builds AI-powered cognitive robots for industrial and everyday use.

Overview of the June 2026 European Venture Capital Landscape

Last month saw 420 VC investments across Europe, with $7.5 billion invested in total – a 155% increase in funding volume compared to June last year.

According to the number of conducted investments, AI leads with 195 investments, followed by Health Care with 124 and FinTech with 63, each ahead by a significant margin of the next industry, Energy (33).

Y Combinator was the most active investor with 11 investments. Followed by EIC Accelerator, Plug and Play and Kima Ventures with 7 investments each and Bpifrance (6 Investments) rounding out the top five most active investors.

Notable funding rounds across Europe

In June, the largest funding round was a $1.4 billion Series C by NEURA, a Metzingen-based Venture which builds AI-powered cognitive robots for industrial and everyday use. Founded in 2019 in Germany, NEURA raised the investment mainly to scale up production and accelerate the industrial deployment of NEURA’s 4NE1 humanoid robot at scale, supported by global expansion and the buildout of its Neuraverse data platform.

Seed Rounds made up the largest share of rounds (41%). Despite that, the largest volume of $2.16bn was invested in 6 Series C Rounds.

The largest Seed Round was secured by Dapple, a Dublin-based company which is the Enterprise OS Cloud, a new type of AI infrastructure that sits between the public cloud and private data centers. Founded in 2025 in Dublin, Dapple raised $30 million (€27.6 million) in June.

European VC Industry Hotspots

In June, London remained the leading hotspot for European VC by number of investments (73), followed by Paris (28), Berlin (20), Barcelona (14) and Stockholm (12).

The most investments by country were in the UK (114), followed by Germany (50) and France (45).

When ranked by investment volume rather than the number of investments, Metzingen ($1.4bn) with one investment and Munich ($453mn) with 9 investments join London, Berlin and Paris in the top 5 cities.

VC Exit Overview

In June, 51 exits took place and one IPO took place.

With 19 exits, Health Care companies were the largest exit industrie, followed by FinTech (12) and EdTech (9) companies.

Most companies exited are based in France with 12 exits, followed by Germany with 11 exits.

PE Acquisitions Overview

In June, 65 PE acquisitions (13% of all VC and PE investment rounds) were conducted, an decrease of 1pp compared to last month.

With 12 acquisitions, the UK saw the highest number of companies acquired in June.

Health Care (14), Food and Beverage (11), Software (10), Consulting (7) and PropTech (6) were the top acquisition industries mentioned.

The standout deal was Bain Capital’s €~7.4 billion acquisition of Everllence, a provider of large engines, turbomachinery and energy systems for the marine and power generation industries.
