The aim of a reporting is to provide a transparent presentation of business development for the management and the shareholders as well as other stakeholders.

In reporting, the development of the company's net assets, financial position and results of operations is presented on the basis of the balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement. In order to highlight deviations from the budget and relevant changes during the year, the results for the current month are compared with the budget and actual figures for all cumulative months since the beginning of the year (year-to-date view).

The first part of the reporting is based on data from ongoing accounting and corporate planning (which is usually updated once a year). These raw data are supplemented by comments and explanations from the management, which point out changes, noteworthy developments or news in the figures.

Management report on corporate development

The second part of the monthly report is the management report on corporate development. The format of this report depends to a large extent on the organization and business model of the company. Accordingly, the content varies depending on the industry to which the company belongs.

Possible contents can include reports on the development of sales, marketing, cooperations, products and personnel. With the help of the second part of the reporting, the management has the opportunity to point out changes as well as to present new ideas.
